Yoga for Rwanda

What: Rwanda Teens For Life offers three outdoor yoga sessions to raise money to support Rwandan women and children still suffering from the effects of genocide.

Bone Marrow Donor Drive for Kai
Who: All ages.
What: Bone marrow donor drive for a little boy named Kai, who just turned 5. He was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia and his only hope for survival is a bone marrow transplant within the next 3 months. Getting tested for compatibility takes only a few minutes. To see if you are a match, all that is required is a simple cheek swab, and a little paperwork. If the marrow is a match, donors are asked to undergo one of two minor, non-invasive outpatient procedures. It is that simple to give someone a second chance at life.

Who: Bicyclists of all ages.
What: Bike Montclair’s annual cycling event throughout Montclair. This year’s theme is “Complete Streets” – safe access for all users: pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists of all ages and abilities. Give-aways, prizes and entertaining stunt bike show after the ride!
Where: Route will start and end at Edgemont Park, Montclair, NJ.

What: Montclair Cooperative School’s 40th Annual art and crafts fair. This three day event will have work from over 80 artists, live music from Parents Who Rock, a rock climbing wall, children’s arts and crafts activities, BBQ from Whole Foods, a make your own sundae tent from Applegate Farms, and much more!

Jersey City Museum Presents: Party City! Family Project Day
Who: All ages..
What: An afternoon of family fun will include stories in the galleries, craft stations and a performance by The Saint Dominic Academy Dominoes.

What: The Montclair High School’s School of Visual and Performing Arts performs this musical of characters, plots and subplots based on the work of Dr. Seuss.
Where: The Little Theater at the George Inness Annex, Montclair high School, 141 Park Street, Montclair, NJ.
When: May 1,2,3,8,9 and 10. Evening performances are at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $15 adults / $10 children age 13 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the box office one hour prior to the show.
 
Free Comic Book Day
Who: Comic book lovers of all ages.
What: Stop by and get a free comic book and get some great deals too.

Kids in The Kitchen
Who: Mini chefs ages 5 – 12.
What: A hands-on cooking demonstration by a professional chef.
Where: Brookdale Shoprite, 1409 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ.
When: Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. – noon.
Cost: $20 per child (must be accompanied by an adult) / $10 for each additional child.
 
Barnes & Noble Storytime
Who: Children who like to be read to.
What: Weekly storytime with various themes.
