Casino and Cabaret Night Fundraiser
Who:
Parents.
What: The Montclair Community Pre-K’s spring fundraiser will include casino night game tables, live Sinatra-style entertainment, a Rat Pack lounge, a VIP poker experience, a buffet dinner, open bar, and a live and silent auction. The proceeds from the evening will benefit the school financial aid program, which allows all Montclair children the opportunity to receive an excellent early childhood education regardless of any family’s financial ability to pay tuition.

Eco Boys and Girls Premier at Liberty Science Center

The Week of the Young Child Workshop

What: The early childhood programs of Montclair are co-sponsoring a demonstration workshop to kick off a week long celebration of the Week of the Young Child, which runs from April 11 – 17. The workshop includes interactive demonstrations of developmental learning and will highlight “learning through play” and the role of play in education. Participants will learn tips from experts on extending children’s learning as well as receiving materials to take home. The program is being held in conjunction with the Montclair Public Schools and the Montclair Dept. of Recreation and Cultural Affairs.

Montclair Art Museum’s Imagination Station – Identity (Lorna Simpson)
Who: Families of all ages.
What: A drop-in weekend program that will be held in the Museum galleries and will focus on a different artwork or theme each week. Families will be engaged in active looking, lively discussion, interactive activities and scavenger hunts, and have a unique opportunity to sketch in the galleries.

Easter Bunny Express

Who: All ages. 
What: Celebrate the return of Spring with the Easter Bunny on a themed train ride along the Morristown & Erie Railway’s Whippanong Trail. The Easter Bunny and helpers greet children and hand out holiday treats on this 45 minute round trip ride.
Where: Whippany Railway Museum, 1 Railroad Plaza, Whippany, NJ. 
When: Saturday, April 3. Train departs each hour on the hour from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

What: Learning Express of Verona is holding its annual Petting Zoo witha a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Easter Egg Hunt at Brookdale Park 
Who: Children who want to put all their eggs into one basket.
What: Huge Easter egg hunt sponsored by Skyline Community Church. Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny (bring your own camera!) Other activities include: face painting, games, music, and prizes.

Kids Workshop: Butterfly House
Who: Young carpenters ages 5 – 12.
What: The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.

Little Explorers Nature Program
Who: Ages 2 1/2 to 5.
