The Sounds of Disney
Who: Disney Fans.
What: A figure skating rendition of Disney’s most magical moments. Performed by Montclair Inside Edge, World Competitors, “Disney on Ice” Skater, and USFS Regional Competitors.  
Where: Clary Anderson Arena, 41 Chestnut Street, Montclair, NJ 07042.
When: Saturday, April 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm.

School of Rock Montclair and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties with Musical Performance by the Chatham School of Rock Street Team
Who: All ages.
What: Benefit concert for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties with School of Rock.
Where: Just Jake’s, 30 Park Street, Montclair, NJ, 07042.
When: Saturday, April 24. Doors open at 4 pm. Concert from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Cost: Donations taken at door. Recommended donations are $10 Individual / $25 Family.

Montclair Art Museum’s Imagination Station – Out at Sea (James McNeal Whistler)
Who: Families of all ages.
What: A drop-in weekend program that will be held in the Museum galleries and will focus on a different artwork or theme each week. Families will be engaged in active looking, lively discussion, interactive activities and scavenger hunts, and have a unique opportunity to sketch in the galleries.

When: Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Cost: Member adults free, non-member adults $12, children $6. 
Mother Goose
Who: Ages 3 to 6. 
What: Mother Goose is designed to promote literacy among preschool-aged patrons. Picture books, flannel board stories, songs and puppets are used to build upon children’s natural enthusiasm for books and reading.

Do Other Animals Sense the World the Way We Do?
Who: Ages 7 and older.
What: In this presentation, animals will be shown to have senses that can perceive a greater range of sight and sound than humans, and some even have totally unique senses. Meet in Garibaldi Hall.  
Where: Essex County Environmental Center, 621 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ. 
When: Saturday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m.

Superheroes Take Over the Mall
Who: Kids, comic book enthusiasts and anyone who wants to support a good cause.
What: The Livingston Mall will be invaded by heroes, monsters, space men and other colorful comic book characters as “Superheroes for Hospice” takes over the shopping center. Come meet notable comic book artists and writers who will be signing autographs, and pick up a comic book from a wide selection of genres and decades available for sale to support a good cause. This charity effort will benefit Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

Party for the Planet
Who: Green kids and their parents.
What:  Earth Day celebration with activities and music!

Cost: Zoo admission: $7 adults / $5 children over 2 / $5 seniors
Drop-In Art and Science Activities at Newark Museum
Who: Kids of all ages and their families.
What: Participate in hands-on art and science workshops every weekend with a new theme each monthThis month’s art theme is Slip and Slide. View the Japanese Galleries with its magnificent fusuma, sliding doors, painted with flowers and grasses. Then create your own using rice paper. This month’s science theme is Nano Days. Explore the apparently invisible world of nanotechnology through hands-on workshops.

When: Saturdays and Sundays in April from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Eco Boys and Girls Premier at Liberty Science Center
Who: 
School-aged kids, kindergarten and up.
What: An educational film and exhibit starring new, earth-friendly, animated characters designed by model, fashion designer, and artist Maria Snyder. The characters usher in the Center’s Earth Week Celebration and guide children through Liberty Science Center’s environmentally informative exhibits. Kids can participate in environmental discovery challenges, watch the short animated film, and see the characters appear on large screens throughout Governor’s Hall.

The Velveteen Rabbit

What: This new gentle and tender telling of the classic fable is ideal for both the young and the young at heart.

Lego Festival
Who: Lego fans of all ages.
What: Fifth annual “LEGO Fun At Lyndhurst” will have Arthur Gugick, a math teacher who is one of the world’s top LEGO builders, LEGO car races, LEGO stop-motion videos and much more.

Open Cockpit Day
Who: Aviator fans of all ages.
What: The Aviation Hall of Fame offers kids a chance to sit in the cockpits of a Martin202A Airliner, Sikorsky HH-52 Coast Guard helicopter, Lockheed 402-2 Bushmaster and bell AH-1 Cobra Attack helicopter.

Self-Defense and Awareness Workshop for Girls and Women
Who: Girls and women ages 10 and up.
What: An interactive workshop that will teach self-defense techniques and learn about body language.
