Crafty Toddlers 
Who: Ages 2 – 4.
What: Play with paint, pinch and pound clay, collage with glue and explore different art materials all in an environment that encourages messy creativity. Runs every Saturday with a different project each week.
Where: Express Yourself Studio, 1912 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood, NJ.  
When: Saturdays from 10 am – 11 am.

Studio Saturdays 
Who: Ages 5 – 12.
What: A drop-in art workshop where you can participate in a different guided art project each week exploring a new art master and medium. Runs every Saturday.

Montclair Art Museum’s Imagination Station – In Your Face 
Who: Families of all ages.
What: A drop-in weekend program that will be held in the Museum galleries and will focus on a different artwork or theme each week. Families will be engaged in active looking, lively discussion, interactive activities and scavenger hunts, and have a unique opportunity to sketch in the galleries.
Where: Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair NJ 07042
When: Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Cost: Member adults free, non-member adults $12, children $6. 
Storytime in the Galleries
Who: Kids and their families.
What: Listen to a new story the second Saturday of each month. This month’s book, Zzzng! Zzzng! Zzzng! A Yoruba Tale, by Phillis Gershator is a classic African Tale about why Mosquito began to bite.
Where: The Newark Museum, 49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.

Drop-In Art and Science Activities at Newark Museum
Who: Kids of all ages and their families.
What: Participate in hands-on art and science workshops every weekend with a new theme each monthThis month’s art theme is Tall Man on the Totem Pole. Visit the African Galleries to view incredibly tall and skinny totemic portraits. Then create your own. This month’s science theme is Dinosaur Tracks (through June 20). Learn how to “read” a fossilized dinosaur footprint and make your own model fossil.

Pokemon Video Game Championships
Who: Anyone who loves Pokemon.
What: A chance to qualify for the National Championships. Gather your team and your Pokemon video game and head on down to this public event. Whether you come as a competitor or spectator, enjoy the competition and root for your favorite team.

Sidewalk Sale at Dulce
Who: Kids.
What: Create a mini mural with paint and candy accents at the kids’ art table co-created with local artist Jennifer Levine. These murals will be used to inspire a larger piece by Jennifer that will be displayed at Dulce in July.

Peter Pan
Who: Theater lovers from age 4 to 104.
What: Fly away to Neverland for non-stop action, spell binding music and stunning choreography in this smash hit musical adaption of J.M. Barrie’s classic story.

Bloomfield Youth Band – Encores

Chess for Life at Panera Bread

Design a Sun-Catcher

Who: Ages 10 and up.
What: Join Glass Roots to design and create your own sun catcher out of glass you cut yourself. Glass Roots will then add the finishing touches to the sun-catchers back at their studio in Newark and mail the finished product to each participant (shipping fees apply). You may also picked up your sun-catcher at their studio.

Grand Opening of Rock Scissors Paper
Who: All ages.
What: Grand opening event of a new neighborhood craft store. Fun craft projects for kids will go on throughout the day: make a Father’s Day card, create notebooks with recycled paper and vintage papers, make pinwheels, make bookmarks, and more. There will also be a henna artist to decorate your hands and feet! Adults can play too and enter a raffle for some great prizes.
