Here, There, Everywhere at Newark Museum
Who: Kids of all ages with caregiver.
What: Join the museum on a voyage of discovery around the world starting right here in NJ. Visit the galleries to explore artists from different cultures. Then create your own artwork using sculpture, printmaking, textile art and painting techniques. Each week focuses on a different art and science theme. This week create a bust of yourself or a friend using clay. Then learn about the Monarchs’ migration and make a butterfly to take home.    
Where: The Newark Museum, 49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.
When: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in July from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: Free with suggested admission: Adult $10 / children $6.
 

Clearview Cinema Summer Kids’ Club
Who: Movie fans of G and PG-rated films.
What: Free family films played every Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Summer Family Film Festival at the Library
Who: Fans of family films.

Newark Black Film Festival’s Youth Cinema: Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald: The Tale of a Vocal Virtuosa, and Alejandro’s Gift.

Who: Children ages 4 – 12.

What: Through these three fun and entertaining films, children will be introduced to African American culture, history, and struggles. Children will view a film honoring Duke Ellington who celebrated the history of African Americans through his music. Through an innovative animated film, they will discover how Ella Fitzgerald found her unique sound. Finally, in an episode of the critically acclaimed children’s series, Reading Rainbow, children will follow the story of Alejandro as he discovers the gift of water.

Cookie Decorating Class

What: Le Baker’s Dozen offers a fun cookie decorating class where children will learn

Green Thumb Club – Gardening for Health and Nutrition

This program is part of a six-month series for teaching young gardeners the best health and nutrition tips.
