Who: Parents looking for holistic approaches health issues.

Madison Square Kids Free Concert Series – Dog on Fleas
Who: Parents with young children.
What: Madison Square Kids is a free summer entertainment series for children on the Oval Lawn in historic Madison Square Park.

Summer Pre-School Story Time

Meet-the-Author Party at Watchung Booksellers
Who: Teen girls entering 6th – 8th grades in September.
What: A party to celebrate Marina Budhos’s book, Tell Us We’re Home, about three 8th grade girls who live in a privileged suburb in New Jersey where their mothers are maids and nannies. When you buy the book, you will receive a ticket to the party for you and your mom. Then read the book, RSVP to the party, think about the book, come to the party, meet Marina and the other girls (and their moms) and chat about the book while enjoying tasty treats.

Sewing Workshops with Crafty Katie

Who: Children ages 3 and up.

What: Children learn to sew with Crafty Katie. They will learn to make fun and unique crafts using colorful, easy-to-use sewing machines. Crafty Katie teaches sewing in a patient, encouraging manner allowing children to take breaks when they get too frustrated or overwhelmed.

Teen Girl Meet-the-Author Party

Who: Teen girls entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in September (and their moms!)

Bringing Back the Legend: Cougar Recovery in Eastern North America

Who: All ages.

What: Featuring Easter Cougar Foundation President Christopher Spatz, review his findings about cougars in the Shawangunks at Minnewaska State Park Preserve to learn about the this magnificent predator behaves, their biology, and current range dispersal. Spatz will explain why sightings don’t produce evidence and why cougars are important to the declining eastern forests.
