The Cloisters Museum Family Festival

Who: Kids ages 4 – 12 and their families.
What: From knights and ladies to courtiers, cooks, and jokers, a medieval court included many different people. Learn about their lives and the ways they enjoyed themselves, such as hunting, feasting, playing games, and musical entertainment. Programs will include family gallery workshops and a self-guided art hunt.
Where: The Met’s Cloisters Museum, 99 Margaret Corbin Drive, Fort Tryon Park, NY, NY.
When: Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30 from 12 pm – 4 pm
Cost: Free with museum admission- recommended adults $25 / children under 12 free

Hot Chocolate Hike – Essex County Environmental Center

What: Go on a fun-filled winter hike around the Environmental Center forest, sip hot chocolate, roast marshmallows and enjoy a winter campfire. Dress warmly.

Kwanzaa 2012: First Fruits of the Harvest

What: Join the Museum’s 34th annual Kwanzaa celebration to experience the rich traditions of Kwanzaa and honor the holiday’s seven guiding principles. The festival, hosted by storyteller Linda Humes, will include a special interview about Karamu (African Feast) with pioneering restaurateur B. Smith, family-friendly hands-on activities, and an international marketplace.Restoration Dance Theatre Company and Balance Dance Theatre, led by acclaimed choreographer Obediah Wright, will perform in an exciting program that also includes newcomers Soul Steps and Underground System Afrobeat.
Where: American Museum of Natural History, Multiple Museums Hall (enter at 77th Street) Central Park West at 79th Street, New York, NY.
When: Saturday, December 29 from 12 pm – 5 pm.

Uncle Rock Concert

Holiday Train Exhibit

What: Bill “The Train Guy” Cinque comes back to the Roseland Free Public Library to set up his 10th annual working holiday train exhibit. Enjoy the lights, moving trains, and quaint homes that make up this railroad. As a bonus, all visitors get a 10-year commemorative train pin!
Where: The Roseland Free Public Library, 20 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ.
