Montclair Community Pre-K to Host “Men are Cooking” Dinner

What: The Montclair Community Pre-K (MCPK) Parent Association will host its annual Men Are Cooking evening.  Dads, grandpas and the men of the MCPK community will prepare their tastiest dishes for all to share.  Wine, beer and soft drinks will be provided.  The celebration includes live music with John Acevedo and the bank Afrocuba. The event benefits the MCPK scholarship fund.
Where: The Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 67 Church Street, Montclair, NJ.

Parents Night Out

American Girl Fashion Show

What: Our tenth annual American Girl Weekend will soon be here.  Proceeds from the two-day event are used to support children’s programs and exhibitions at the Museum.  The Weekend is also an opportunity to introduce new people to the Newark Museum, which in its 100-year history has served multiple generations. Each show consists of a two-part runway fashion show, highlighting the historical American Girl characters and their unique stories as well as contemporary fashions.
At intermission, everyone is invited to an ice cream social in our elegant Engelhard Court.
Intermission is also a time to purchase tickets for a chance to win an American Girl doll or other prizes. Each show has its own raffle of dolls and accessories.
Where: Newark Museum, 49 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.
When: Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 at 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.

GARDENS WITHOUT BORDERS: SEED BOMBS

What: A seed bomb is a little capsule with everything needed to grow a plant all bundled up: clay, fertilizer, and indigenous seeds. Prepare for spring by creating seed bombs that will bring natural beauty wherever you throw them. Rain will melt the clay to expose and sow the seeds, and your seeds will grow. Distribute them in your yard or neighborhood. Be a warrior for beautifying the environment! Supplies are limited. First-come, first-serve basis.
