Urban Youth Farmer: A 4H Presentation

Young horticulturalists of the extraordinary Urban Youth Farmers program talk about their hands-on work with plants.
The program offers teens a broad view of plant growth and use, with a focus on horticulture in an urban environment, strengthening the bonds between plants, people and community.

Girl Scouts Family Music Festival

What: Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) will host the 2013 CAMPLIFIED tour during our first-ever Family Music Festival on Saturday, August 3 from 12-5pm at Camp DeWitt (605 Montgomery Road, Hillborough, New Jersey). Admission is only $8 for all and includes sponsored activities, live performances, tons of giveaways and prizes! Event Details: This event is rain or shine! Face Jugs Workshop

What: During Summer Social Picnic, go wild expressing yourself by creating a face jug. We’ll supply the jug and clay, you create the face. For families (kids 15 and younger will require adult assistance) or adults, as well as for beginner or intermediate potters, this workshop is sure to sell out quickly. Jugs will be available for pickup after firing within a few weeks. Instructor: Greg from Laplaca Pottery Works. Bike Right – Defensive Bike Skills Training

What: Would you like to improve your biking skills and learn how to share the road? TransOptions’ bike coaches will train bike riders and beginner bike riders to Bike Right! In a hands-on training course, bikers will learn skills such as traffic navigation, crash avoidance, NJ bike laws, route planning, flat tire repair, proper gearing and more. Participants will also be given a bike rider’s student manual as well as free Bike Right merchandise.

Summer Streets NYC
