Into the Woods Junior

What: INTO THE WOODS JUNIOR is a young performer’s version of the famous Broadway musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. It’s a funny musical comedy that takes familiar fairy tales and twists them into a new story.

SummerART Receptions & Raku Demonstrations

What: MAM proudly displays SummerART students’ artwork at a reception at the end of each session. Here, friends, family, and members of the community can gather to see the campers’ creative accomplishments. The receptions are held in MAM’s spacious Leir Hall. Light refreshments are served. Join us to celebrate these bright young artists!
This year, during the SummerART receptions, MAM Ceramics Studio Manager Steve Jaskowak will also lead a Raku demonstration. Raku is a process in which work is removed from the kiln at bright red heat (1800 degrees!) and subjected to post-firing reduction (or smoking) by being placed in trash cans of combustible materials, which blackens raw clay and causes crazing in the glaze surface.
Where: Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair, NJ.
When: Fridays, August 9 and 23 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Summer Fun Days at Newark Museum
